Hello and welcome!!
My name is April. Melody. I met a wonderful British man and we married in 2021. Hence my move to lovely England!!
Journey with me as I explore, as I live and learn, as I adapt. Share with me the struggles and the rewards. Learn with me about adapting to a different culture, how to manage a new lifestyle, how to stay close with family and friends abroad (how often to return for visits, best ways to achieve quality time with everyone). Explore the ins and outs of moving abroad, obtaining a U.K. driving license, (yes–learning to drive on the “wrong” side of the road!), the intricacies of opening bank accounts, grocery shopping for items you won’t find anymore (and the alternatives), learning how to cook and bake with different measurement scales and cooking temps! Share the fantastic expansion of family on the opposite side of the pond and the wonderful opportunity of making new friends!
Just to be clear–all my blogs are based on my experiences. This is how I see my world, mixed with some humor, some facts, but mostly my opinions and my take on things. I invite you to join me in my journey and see the world through my eyes. My experiences are based on my life in New England (Massachusetts) and living on the southwest coast of England, with some visits to other regions in England as well. I am not an expert in all things American or British, but hope my insights may bring you a laugh, open possibilities and alternatives for you, as well as provide some helpful hints for a possible relocation or assist you on a vacation. Let’s share and get a better understanding of the Yank and Brit lifestyles, traditions, cultures….READ ON MY FRIENDS!
